Overview
Bolt Data Connect’s offering can be broken down into three major components:
- Bolt Data Connect App
- IoT Cloud
- Edge Gateway
User Interface
The Bolt Data Connect user interface consists of a managed package installed within Salesforce. The app can be configured to work with any object as the base Thing. For a quick tour of the user interface, take a look at App Tour. Or dive right into configuration.
IoT Cloud
The IoT Cloud currently runs on the AWS platform. This portion of the architecture runs autonomously, with all configuration completed through the Salesforce user interface.
Edge Gateway
Edge Gateways handle receiving, aggregating, processing, and transferring your Thing data to the cloud, including the execution of your custom configured Rules-Engine Calculations and Alert Conditions.
